Baltimore’s peak ‘top prospect still to come’ next year

The Baltimore Orioles have been transformed since the second half of last year and are looking to win the division this season. However, the team is far from complete.

There’s still a superstar prospect on the way. The star of the show is Jackson Holliday, 20, the son of seven-time All-Star outfielder Matt Holliday.

Holliday is an ultra-premium prospect who was selected by Baltimore in the first round of the 2022 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. He is a right-handed hitting shortstop.

He is currently ranked as the No. 1 prospect by MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball. He has a near 100% chance of reaching the major leagues in 2024.

He played in the Rookie League and Single-A after being drafted last year, and this season he’s been blowing up the league in Single-A, high Single-A, and Double-A.

Holliday started the season in Single-A and is now in Double-A. He could make his major league debut in 2024 after spending some time in Triple-A this season.

In 57 games at High Single-A, Holliday is batting .314 with five home runs, a .452 slugging percentage and a .940 OPS, and he’s on pace for a 5% on-base percentage right after his Double-A promotion.

The addition of an ultra-professional shortstop to a Baltimore team that could make the postseason on its current strength alone. It means getting stronger.
Baltimore’s biggest weakness right now is an ace pitcher who can lock down a game. The Orioles will look to add to their bullpen this offseason or in the winter.

The best-case scenario is that they succeed in acquiring an ace and Holiday makes a successful major league debut in 2024. 토토사이트주소

That would be the beginning of the end for a Baltimore organization that has been hiding in the shadows among the American League East powers.

The Orioles last made the postseason in 2016, and their last championship came in 1983, when Cal Ripken Jr. was in his third year in the majors.
