China’s national soccer team runs away from a world champion’s visit.
China’s Zibo.com reported on June 22 (local time) that “World Cup champion Argentina will visit China during the June A match. However, the opponent is not the Chinese national soccer team, but the Australian national soccer team.”
Argentina, the winner of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, will visit Asia during the June A match. They will first face Australia in a friendly on June 15 in Beijing.
Immediately following the match, Argentina will travel to Jakarta, Indonesia to face Indonesia. It”s literally a friendly tour of Asia.
Interestingly, the opponent on June 15 at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium is not the Chinese national soccer team, but the Australian national soccer team.
The Aussies aren’t exactly a force to be reckoned with in a game that’s typically played for the purchasing power of the Chinese soccer market. Even the Chinese national soccer team has games in China during the same period.
First, they will face Myanmar on June 16 at the Barracuda Bay Stadium in Dalian. On June 20, they will face Palestine, who will be competing at the 2023 AFC Qatar Asian Cup, at the same venue.
