DeGrom on injured list with elbow inflammation

Texas Rangers starter Jacob deGrom ended up on the injured list.

On the 30th (Korean time), the Rangers announced that they would put deGrom on the injured list for the 15th due to right elbow inflammation ahead of the home game against the New York Yankees.

Earlier, deGrom suffered an abnormality in the forearm of his right arm while taking the mound in the fourth inning of a home game against the Yankees at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas the previous day.

If there is a problem with this area, commonly called the forearm, it is usually a problem with the elbow. DeGrom was eventually placed on the disabled list with an elbow injury.

Director Chris Young explained in an interview with local media such as the ‘Dallas Morning News’, “As a result of the MRI scan, my elbow was slightly inflamed.”

DeGrom missed 15 games in 2021 with an elbow problem. He left an all-time record with an earned run average of 1.08 in 15 games, but did not pitch in a single game in the second half.

In September of that year, Sandy Elderson, president of the New York Mets, who belonged to deGrom, belatedly revealed that he had a problem with his medial collateral ligament (UCL).

If the UCL damage is worst, you will have to undergo Tommy John surgery to replace it. DeGrom went through rehab without surgery and returned the following season, but this time he only threw 64 1/3 innings in 11 games with a broken shoulder. 안전놀이터

This year, the first season after a five-year, $185 million contract with Texas, he was fighting hard with a 2-0, 2.67 ERA in 6 games. However, he was plagued by injuries.

For now, the Rangers club plans to watch the situation. Director Young said, “I felt fine today. This is positive news. But he is a very important player to our team, so we will approach him cautiously. I’ll try the treatment over the next few days and see how he responds. After 7 to 10 days, we will have more clarity on the next steps,” he said of the plan.
