The Korean men’s volleyball team led by coach Lim Do-heon has embarked on a full-fledged generational change.
The Korean Volleyball Association announced on the 1st of the national team list to participate in the 2023 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenger Men’s Volleyball Tournament to be held in Taipei, Taiwan from July 8 to 15. A total of 16 players were named to the national team roster.
The key keyword for this national team is generational change. Excluding top setter Han Seon-seon (38, Korean Air) and veteran middle blocker Shin Young-seok (37, KEPCO), the age group of the team was drastically lowered.
The average age of the national team without Han and Shin Young-seok is 25.6 years old. The oldest is Kim Gyu-min (33, Korean Air), a middle blocker born in 1990.
The setters are led by two setters in their 20s, Hwang Taek-eui (27, KB Insurance) and Kim Myeong-gwan (26, Hyundai Capital). The middle blocker position is Kim Kyu-min, Kim Min-jae (20, Korean Air), Kim Jun-woo (23, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance), Park Jun-hyuk (26), and Lee Sang-hyun (24, Woori Card). Park Kyung-min (24, Hyundai Capital) and Oh Jae-seong (31, Woori Card) were selected for the libero position.
All wing strikers are in their 20s. Heo Soo-bong (25, Hyundai Capital) and Lim Dong-hyuk (24, Korean Air) were selected as the Apposite Spikers. Outside heaters are Kim Ji-han (23, Woori Card), Na Gyeong-bok (29), Hwang Gyeong-min (27, KB Insurance), Lim Seong-jin (24, KEPCO), and Jeong Han-yong (22, Korean Air). 크크크벳
The players included in the national team started training at the Jincheon National Training Center on the 1st. He began to temper ahead of the 2023 AVC Challenger Men’s Volleyball Tournament to be held in Taipei, Taiwan from July 8 to 15. A total of 17 countries participated in this tournament, and Korea was in Group B along with Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
