Sadio Mane, 31, is leaving Bayern Munich and heading to Saudi Arabia.
Mane was on Munich’s release list this summer. There have been various rumors about his future, including a return to the English Premier League (EPL), but a move to Saudi Arabia seems likely.
Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the European soccer transfer market, said on Friday (July 25), “Mane’s agent will be in Japan this week. They will negotiate more specifically with Al-Nasr.”
Munich are currently in pre-season in Japan. Coincidentally, Alnasr are also playing in Japan for their pre-season, increasing the likelihood of a deal happening there.
Mane joined Bayern Munich from Liverpool in the summer transfer window last year. The Bavarians had high hopes for Mane as they saw him as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who left for Barcelona.
However, he has since been plagued by injuries and controversy. In early November of last year, he went under the knife with a fractured calf bone. After rehabilitation, he returned to action, but didn’t get back to full fitness easily. Furthermore, in April, he assaulted teammate Leroy Sane during an argument. 먹튀검증
Munich coach Thomas Tuchel dropped Mane from his plans for next season, and he was placed on the ‘release list’.
That’s when the Saudis came calling. Al-Nasr, which is part of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund (PIF), is known for luring star players with huge salary offers, having signed Cristiano Ronaldo last year and Marcelo Brozovic and Seko Fofana in the summer. It remains to be seen whether Mane will play alongside them.
